Learn to prevent and manage problems in the water and become more confident in your skills as a diver. It is challenging, yet very rewarding. During this three to four day course, you will learn how to become a better dive buddy by practicing problem solving skills until they become second nature. This course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond.

You will partake in ten rescue exercises and two open water rescue scenarios that includes self rescue, recognizing and managing stress in other divers, emergency management and equipment, rescuing panicked divers and rescuing unresponsive divers.

It is required for you to have the Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months. If you do not have this certification, we can also get you certified. Our instructors are certified to provide this course for you. Email us for more information on this.

Cost for Full Rescue Diver Course:

3 days - $450 US dollars

Includes Rescue Diver Manual, park fees, rental of all dive equipment, Rescue Diver Certification card, water and snacks

Cost for PADI eLearning:

This online portion is paid to PADI and the cost for the online course varies based on your country of residence. The E-learning is the classroom portion that includes all theory, quizzes and exams. Students that sign up for this portion can become a certified diver in two to three days.

The cost for the diving portion with Blue Wave Divers is $300 US dollars. It includes park fees, rental of all dive equipment, Rescue Diver Certification Card, water and snacks.

You must submit the hard copy of the E-learning record that contains the grade for the online classroom portion.

Cost for Referral Course:
If you started the Rescue Course with another dive shop and you were unable to complete it, do not worry, you can be certified! You will need to provide the referral form from the previous instructor. The form must be properly filled out and signed by the instructor.

Full Course Schedule

Day 1:

Meet your PADI certified Instructor. Watch the PADI Rescue Diver video. Complete the Knowledge Reviews in Rescue Diver Manual. Complete the (EFR) Emergency First Responder course under direct supervision of certified PADI Instructor, if needed.

Day 2:

Complete the 10 in-water rescue excercises, under direct supervision of certified PADI Instructor.

Day 3:

Complete the 2 open water rescue scenarios, under direct supervision of certified PADI Instructor. Complete the Rescue Diver final exam.
